My name is Farkhonda Akbari. I was born like thousands of other Afghan children in the life of homelessness in
Quetta
city of
Pakistan
on 21st of March 1991. My first school was
Fanus
Public School
. It was an Urdu/English based Pakistani school. After some years my life in
Quetta
we migrated to
Iran
and steeled down in Isphahan. The year 2000 till 2002 in
Iran
was as usual like other Afghans in between home boundary. We could not go out much because of not having legal document.
We proved to be very lucky and got temporary residents permit ( Namee Muwaqat), it let us join school. So, I had to forget all I had learned in Urdu and English. I began to be DOKHTAR KHANOOM. I tried to move my mouth in different unnecessary directions in order to speak Irani Persian. It was hurting me but I had no any other choice. (Like the old Afghan saying BESOOZO_O_BESAAZ). It helped me be close with teachers and made me be acceptable for them. In August 2003 life moved to another direction. We were accepted by United Nations and were sent to
Australia
. The warm welcome and the free humanly breath made me feel home. This time I did not wait for years to start school, it just took 12 days. Now I live with me family ( mother, brother, his wife my ainga, sister Shekaiba and younger brother Ferdous) in
Griffith
, a small city in southern
Australia
. Now I am student in
Griffith
High School
in grade 11.
